Jonathan Goldman

Biography

Jonathan Goldman is a full professor of musicology in the Faculty of Music at the Université de Montréal. His research focuses on musical modernism from a regional perspective and through its interface with technology. From 2006 to 2016, he was director of Circuit, musiques contemporaines, and is the author of The Musical Language of Pierre Boulez (Cambridge, 2011). He has co-translated a volume of Boulez’s writings (Music Lessons, Chicago, 2019) and edited the collectives La création musicale au Québec (PUM, 2014), Texts and Beyond (UT Orpheus, 2015) and The Dawn of Musical Semiology (Rochester, 2017, with Jonathan Dunsby).
